How is this different from just buying smart devices?
Buying devices leaves you the hardest part: making them talk to each other and turning them into a decision. A company that buys a smart lock, a thermostat and a time-tracking app separately ends up with three apps, three accounts, three bills and no single place that shows what actually happened yesterday. Do I have to take the whole set at once?
No, and almost nobody does. Most clients start with the one area where the pain is most tangible — usually the heating bill or time tracking — and add the rest once the first one has paid for itself. The platform underneath is shared, so adding later is not a new system or a data migration: a cabinet, a boiler or a site simply appears in the same app. It is also the cheapest way to manage risk, because you see the real effect of step one in your own numbers before committing to step two. Will it work with the hardware and software we already have?
Usually yes. The platform is brand-independent and speaks to a wide range of equipment, so an existing heat pump, boiler, lock or sensor generally just gets a new brain rather than being replaced. On the software side we have REST and GraphQL interfaces, webhooks and MCP support, which means data moves into your accounting, payroll or ERP system without manual exports. If some device or system is unusual enough that no ready integration exists, we write it — that is what our custom-solutions team does, and it is the same team that builds the platform. Before quoting, we go through what you already run and tell you honestly what connects immediately, what needs work, and what simply is not worth doing.
How quickly does it pay for itself?
It depends where you start, but the orders of magnitude are predictable. Heating usually pays back fastest, because the saving is monthly and measurable: if the bill drops by at least a quarter, payback is typically one to two heating seasons. Time tracking pays back through vanished manual work and hours that used to be lost — at twenty-odd employees, the recovered hours and corrected errors already outweigh the licence comfortably. Self-service cabinets pay back through selling hours you simply did not have before: a door that opens at 23:00 earns exactly as much as the stock behind it. We do not quote a generic percentage; we calculate payback from your real bills and volumes — and if the number is not convincing, we say so.
Who maintains it, and what happens when something breaks?
We do. Design, supply, installation and ongoing monitoring come from one team under one warranty, so you never stand between a supplier and an installer. The system also watches itself: a device that stops answering, a battery draining faster than usual or a lock that will not seat properly raises an alert to us and to you before it becomes downtime. Most faults are resolved remotely — a setting, a restart or a firmware update — with nobody driving anywhere. When a physical repair is genuinely needed, we already know which device and which fault, so it is one visit instead of three. Your data stays yours and the interfaces stay open, so you are never tied to us simply because leaving would be technically hard.
